Buck Steiner was born in 1899 and later traveled the country in wild-west shows. Buck's son Tommy ran a growing real estate business and an emerging rodeo company that produced rodeos all over the world. Both Buck and Tommy are members of the National Cowboy Hall of Fame and the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame. Roughly 25 years ago the Steiner family sold their family parcel. The land, approximately 4,600 acres, is now the home of the Steiner Ranch community. The Steiners still own a couple of small parcels of land in the community development.
Located between FM 2222 and Mansfield Dam on RM 620, Steiner is conveniently located to 3M, Vista Chemical, Dell Computers, IBM, State Farm Insurance, Lakeline Mall, National Instruments and about 25 minutes from downtown Austin. Amenities include three community centers each having swimming pools, changing, shower and restroom facilities, lighted tennis courts, picnic and playground areas, basketball court and volleyball area. We also have a Lake Club on Lake Austin which includes day use boat docks, lighted pavilion, barbeque pits and playground. Miles of scenic nature trails for hiking and biking surround the Steiner Ranch community.
